Being a Promoter isn’t just a job for Heather McCloskey; it’s a passion
In the fall of 2016, Heather McCloskey had the feeling that something was missing from her life. The busy mom of three was having success in direct sales with another company but wasn’t fulfilled. “I was exhausted, living on coffee and carbs, and I was just kind of going through the motions with my business,” she says.
But that October, a friend, Promoter Lisa Fuller, said she needed the THRIVE Experience in her life and gave her some samples to try.
On Day 10 of trying the product, she noticed a big change. “I was getting my kids’ lunches packed, and I started singing along to the music that was on,” she says. “My kids said, ‘Mom, are you okay?’ And at that moment I just felt alive and excited for my day.”
After that experience, McCloskey stepped away from her direct-sales job and became a Promoter. “I realized that THRIVE was something I needed to be attached to because people really need it. And by helping people, I was becoming more fulfilled.”
In her first month as a Promoter, McCloskey earned several bonuses, including her Auto Bonus, and achieved the 40K VIP rank in her first 60 days.
Then, she reached the 80K rank, “and I sat there for a while,” she says. McCloskey’s niece had been diagnosed with leukemia, and McCloskey began caring for the girl’s sibling so her sister could focus on caring for her sick daughter.
“I suddenly found myself caring for four children,” she says. “But at the same time, I felt incredibly blessed that being a THRIVE Promoter gave me the resources and freedom to show up for my family.”
Even during this stressful time, McCloskey says, “THRIVE never felt like work to me.
“I never look at this business as a business,” she says. “It is just ingrained in me so much that it’s part of my life. I don’t have to make a conscious effort every day to say, ‘Okay, I have to talk about THRIVE today.’ I just live it.”
McCloskey achieved her 200K rank in May of 2017 and continues to value the freedom her THRIVE business affords her family. This year, since her children have been attending online school, her family drove their RV from their home in Michigan to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they’re spending the winter. “Instead of enduring the cold winter this year, we’re booking dolphin excursions,” she says. “I’m really thankful to be able to have this experience with my family.”
THRIVE has also given McCloskey and her family the resources and time to travel the world: They’ve taken several trips to Mexico and are working on plans to take a month-long trip to Germany, Slovenia and Croatia to see her brother. “I can’t tell you how much this opportunity [to be a Promoter] has really helped open up our world,” she says.
At the same time, McCloskey says she plans to double down on her THRIVE business over the next year. “Being at a top rank in a company doesn’t mean you’ve made it,” she says. “When you get to the top, it’s your opportunity to turn around and help other people do the same thing.”
Indeed, McCloskey says, one of the best things about being a Promoter is helping others discover and follow their true passion, just like she has. “There’s no end game here,” she says. “Being a Promoter is who I am.”
